ULTIMATE GUIDE TO GETTING AN 'A' IN PHY152

I'm Abegunde Ola Adeboye, a 300L student of the department of Civil engineering, University of ilorin ilorin Kwara state. I'll give you some failed proof guides on how to achieve an excellent Academic performance. This guide is not just limited to PHY152 but also applicable to every other courses at the University of ilorin.

All of these guides are based on what has been my experiences as regards offering courses at the univerUniv of Ilorin. The following are things you need to know, do's and dont's in achieving excellent Academic performance.

1. You must prepare ahead of classes: As much as you can if possible, make sure that you prepare yourself ahead of a course in general and ahead of a class lecture and that's why the course outline for each course is provided in your department handbook. You can prepare ahead by consulting online materials and tutorial videos on YouTube. This will greatly help you to flow along with the lecturer during the class lecture and you'll get a more concise concept about the topic.

2. In your quest to achieve Academic Excellence,  You must  prepare to attain the peak; which implies that if You're planning to have grade A in a particular course in unilorin. Pls do prepare to have 100% score because many attimes there are institution and management based unforseen circumstances that tends to reduce students score and consequently lowers their grade. So you need to be on the look out and prepare yourself to balance out those irregularities in score and result computing.

3. To achieve Academic excellence in any course; you need to understand the course as much as you can. Ensure you attend class lectures strictly and make sure that you mind is with the lectures anytime you're in the lecture room. Jot down cogent points dictated by lectures.

4. Do not go beyond the scope of the course unnecessarily. Very important; you see so many people waste their time on complex and irrelevant aspect of a particular course at the expense of neglecting the neccesnec aspects. I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't read further ahead of what's being treated in class but all I'm saying is that you must ensure that it's balance. When the lecturer set basic questions and it's only complex ones you know. Youll be graded poorly not minding the fact that you even know the basic concepts. Going beyond the scope of the course shouldn't distract to help you to understand the course better.

5. Practice, understand and learn all class lecture examples, class Exercise and assignments. Most of them do later show up in tests and exams.

PHY152 SPECIAL GUIDE

1. As much as you can, Learn and k ow the unit of constants e.g unit of Temperature coefficient of resistance. K value in Coulumb's law

2. Understand the relationship between variables based on basic elementary mathematics. For instance the Resistance of a wire varies inversely with the cross sectional area

3. Create a fomula set where you compile all the PHY152 formulas and then you can easily refer to them for your practice

4. Do not shot yourselves in the leg with your calculator. Pitifully, many people will fail PHY152 because of their calculator which will reduce their speed and accuracy.
